Proof of ownership documents accessible
01 Aug 2017
Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation, Mr Prince Maele says information on the State House and Botswana Defence Force Glen Valley camp is contained in the land register kept at the Deeds Registry and freely accessible to the public at no cost.
Mr Maele said he was, however, constrained to answer the question pursuant to Standing Order 38.1 (m) which dissuade an MP from asking questions seeking information which could be found in accessible documents, or ordinary works of reference which were readily available in official publication.
Ghanzi North MP, Mr Noah Salakae had asked the minister whether the land on which the State House and the Botswana Defence Force Glen Valley Camp were built on was private or state own, and if there was proof of ownership, and if so, was it possible for the minister to bring the proof of ownership to Parliament for confirmation.
