Montiredi establishes own bakery
27 Jul 2017
Montiredi Otukile is a first time entrepreneur who took chance in venturing into the bakery business after realising that he is armed with the necessary experience.
The Molepolole-born youth is using the experience gained from working for more than 10 years in the bakery industry to establish Montiredi’s Bakery which is two months old.
He boasts of experience gained from big bakeries among others Just Bread, Butterfield, Bread Time and Sefalana.
With assistance from the Youth Development Fund (YDF) Mr Montiredi capitalised on baking varieties of bread including loaves, scones, fat cakes, muffins, rock buns, biscuits and cupcakes to supply some general dealers and tuck shops around Molepolole.
To meet the supplies demand, he has roped in two assistants who are currently undergoing on-the-job training.
Montiredi admitted that every business had its own challenges and that one must have a way of dealing with them.
One of them he said was shortage of staff which had resulted with him juggling between personally delivering his products to customers along side the art of baking.
Quizzed how he managed to get funding immediately after applying for the funds in six months’ time, he said his past experience worked for him as he submitted relevant documents like his references when applying for funding. ENDS
