BAC has 214 staff compliment

Assistant Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology says the total staff complement for the Botswana Accountancy College (BAC) is 214 of which 83 are academic staff while 131 are non-teaching staff.
Answering a question in Parliament from Specially Elected MP Mr Mephato Reatile, Mr Fidelis Molao said the college had employed 83 fulltime and 14 part-time lecturers made up of 41 Batswana and 42 expatriate lecturers, while there were three part-time Batswana lecturers and 11 part-time expatriate lecturers.
He noted that the contracts for the 42 expatriates serving in the college lapsed in the past five years and they were renewed, noting that during the same period, contracts for three expatriates lapsed and they were not renewed.
In the meantime, the assistant minister noted that a total of 10 expatriates contracts expired during the financial year 2016/17 and their distribution by department was as follows: School of Finance and Professional Studies (two), School of Business and Leisure (five) and School of Computing and Information Systems (three).
Mr Molao however said there were no expatriate promotions in the past three years. ENDS
