Organic Fertilizers Manufacturers Botswana (OFMB) sales executive, Mr Kabelo Kaparang has applauded organisers of Manufacturers and Distributors Exhibition (MADE) 2017 for according his company an opportunity to access both local and international markets. 

In an interview, Mr Kaparang said OFMB made a lot of sales during the exposition to local and international visitors. 

OFMB he said surprised Batswana with their initiative. 

“Batswana did not believe such a plant exists in Botswana,” he said. 

He said government’s support to manufacturers could help diversify the country’s economy and create employment. 

Mr Kaparang said his products were available throughout most retail stores in Botswana and received enough support. 

OFMB has been in existence for six years and operates a blending plant and a cattle feed lot. 

It manufactures fertilizers out of cattle and chicken manure and exports to South Africa and recently listed Zambia and Namibia. 

The establishment based at Mmamashia is operated by 50 permanent Batswana employees and engages over 100 temporary labourers during the ploughing season responsible for selling fertilisers on behalf of the company. ENDS
