Land servicing ongoing at Magope

23 Jul 2017

Assistant Minister of Land Management, Water And Sanitation Services, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi has informed Parliament that the ministry carried out Phase 1 of minimal land servicing in Magope  by installing two prepaid public stand pipes in 2011.

He said currently Phase 2 of minimal land servicing project was ongoing in the same area entailing paving of 4.7km and 1.2km water pipe line.

He said this was augmenting the previously erected stand pipes, hence increasing the total number of stand pipes in Magope Ward to three.

Mr Moipisi said the  ongoing supply line was servicing one public stand pipe due to inadequate water pressures to reach the furthest portion of Magope layout.

He said the design that was presented to South East District Council during NDP 9 was still available and would be used for full reticulation in future, funds permitting.

He said the estimated reticulation cost was about P200 million.

Mr Moipisi was responding to  Ramotswa MP, Mr Samuel Rantuana, who had asked when water reticulation at Magope would be carried out and what happened to the Magope water reticulation layout that was presented to the South East District Council during NDP 9 by the Department  Water Affairs. ENDS
