Quality order of day - Butale

Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Biggie Butale says manufacturers have to create employment to help eradicate poverty in the country.

Speaking at the manufacturers and distributors exhibition on July 20, Mr Butale said manufacturers should be able to create wealth for themselves by manufacturing products of desired value.

“As government we sincerely want to buy goods and services from local manufacturers and suppliers and this means goods should be of high quality in order to be bought,” he said.

He said the exhibition would help manufacturers find markets and broaden market base. 

Mr Butale urged manufacturers to drive the love Botswana campaign so that money could be circulated around the country.

The minister noted that the exhibition would help manufacturers to benchmark of the latest technologies taking place in the manufacturing industries.

For his part, the president of Botswana Exporters and Manufacturers Association (BEMA), Mr Nkosi Mwaba said manufacturers should improve the value of the competitiveness and value of Botswana products.

He further said manufacturers should focus on productivity, value and consistency of the products. 

“We should not only sell quality products, but convenience as well. 

We need to be creative in what we do too,” he said. ENDS
