Ministry of Defence, Justice and Security (MDJS) does not have any projects under the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) in Boteti East constituency villages.
Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Shaw Kgathi said there was only one project that had been approved for implementation under National Development Plan (NDP 11) for Boteti constituency.
Mr Kgathi said the approved project was for the construction of a combination of new district headquarters and a police station with 28 houses.
He said the existing Letlhakane Police Station houses would be refurbished.
Mr Kgathi stated that the total project estimation as approved for NDP 11 was P91 million for the entire period plan.
He said the project started in 2017/18 with the design stage, adding that when the process was complete, the implementation plan and commencement dates would then be determined.
He further said that already the Department of Building and Engineering Services (DBES) project team under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing Development visited the site last month to undertake a site and condition survey.
The Member of Parliament for Boteti East, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe had asked the minister to appraise Parliament on the projects in his ministry under ESP and NDP11 that would be carried out in the Boteti East constituency villages.
MP Lelatisitswe had also wanted to know a brief description of the project scope, the budget attached and timelines.
He also wanted to know when the projects would start and end as well as the current progress in relation to the projects, including reasons where there were delays. ENDS
