Serowe SOS village director, Ms Reginah Nfila has applauded Mokwena crime prevention cluster for supporting SOS children.

Ms Nfila said, at the donation of 23 school bags to SOS children by the cluster in Serowe on June 25, that the gesture showed the cluster's love and support to the underprivileged. She said the donation would motivate children to do well in their studies.

There are SOS centres, which take care of orphans in Francistown, Tlokweng and Serowe. Ms Nfila further said it was costly to provide SOS children with the conducive environment to stay and attend school accordingly, therefore she said the community should help raise these children.

She said they accommodated orphans from as far as Kasane and their number was increasing. Headmen for Mokwena ward, Mr Kgotsietsile Lebogang encouraged the residents to love and support orphans.

Mr Lebogang said parents should desist from taking children’s inheritance. Rather, he said, parents should keep the property for children until they were mature and responsible. ENDS
