Sixty -one technical posts would be created by retiring employees over the two year period in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing Development.
Answering a question in Parliament on Thursday, the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Development, Mr Nonofo Molefhi said that the ministry would fill the technical posts through internal and external recruitment.
Mr Molefhi further said their records had revealed that a total of 53 employees of the ministry would reach the compulsory retirement age of 60 years during the 2017/2018 financial year adding that 56 employees would also reach compulsory retirement age in the 2018/2019 financial year.
Mr Molefhi mentioned that 32 posts would be created during the 2017/2018 financial year, while 29 posts would be created during the 2018/2019 financial year.
Specially elected Member of Parliament, Mr Mephato Reatile had asked the minister to state the number of employees who reached the compulsory retirement age in the financial year 2017-2018.
MP Reatile has also wanted to know the number of employees who would reach the compulsory retirement age in the financial year 2018/2019.
He further wanted to know whether the minister had made arrangements for succession with regards to those who held technical posts as well as the number of technical posts that would be created by retiring employees. BOPA
