Ministry considers many factors when effecting transfers
18 Jul 2017
The Ministry of Basic Education considers factors such as length of service at a school, exigency of service, social matters, medical issues and improvement of school performance when effecting transfers.
Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Mr Moiseraele Goya said Marang Junior Secondary School head head was transferred after less than two years at the school due to the exigency of service.
Gaborone North MP, Mr Haskings Nkaigwa had the minister why the school head was transferred when he had only been at the school for less than two years.
Mr Nkaigwa also wanted to know why he was transferred after the school performed exceptionally in the 2016 Junior Certificate Examinations.
Mr Goya said the exceptional performance of the school was a result of concerted efforts involving the school head, teachers, parents and students and could not be attributed to a single individual. ENDS
