The Assistant Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services Mr Itumeleng Moipisi says nine employees from the ministry would have reached compulsory retirement by end of March next year.
Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday, the assistant minister said this will bring the total number of officers who would have reached compulsory retirement age to 17 by end of 2017/18 financial year.
Furthermore, he said the number of employees who will reach compulsory retirement age by the year 2018/19 is 18.
He said when positions become vacant, eligible officers from a pool are identified for filling the posts.
Specially Elected MP Mr Mephato Reatile had asked the assistant minister to state the number of employees who would have reached compulsory retirement in the 2017/18 financial year. ENDS
