Administration of Justice donates computers
11 Jul 2017
Chief Justice, Mr Maruping Dibotelo last Friday handed over two computers to Mabudzane Primary School.
The donation followed theft of six computers at the school in May, which were donated by the Chinese Embassy.
When handing over the computers, Justice Dibotelo indicated that he was pleased to assist, especially after receiving the sad news that the school lost its six computers and other accessories to thieves.
“These days’ computers have become a very important tool in the education of children because now everything is done with a computer.” he added.
He further stated that his organisanisation was happy and proud to be donating computers to Mabudzane Primary School because it was a way of contributing to the education of children, adding that children were close to his heart and their education was important to him.
“As a parent, it is my responsibility to ensure that children get good quality education,” he noted.
Chief Justice Dibotelo also said he believed that the donation of the two computers would play a significant role in replacing the ones that were stolen, adding that these days learning was not about reading books only, but also about learning from computers.
He indicated that theft of government property was disturbing because a lot of money was used to buy the same things again, noting that the money could be channeled to other things by government.
He advised the school to use the computers appropriately so that future generations could also benefit from them.
For her part, school head, Ms Kgalalelo Sekhwela indicated that it was saddening that their school had to experience such a misfortune.
She further stated that it was a great loss to them since they saved a lot of stuff like teaching aids, revisions and other important information in those computers therefore it was a draw back to them since they now have to start afresh and work overtime to stabilise the situation.
She said they also asked for help from different companies and were lucky that the Administration of Justice quickly answered their plea.
In his remarks, Tsamaya councillor, Mr Isaac Pelaelo said the computers would help the students to perform much better, especially that the school had been performing exceptionally well and maintaining a 100 per cent pass rate.
He also pleaded with Chief Justice Dibotelo to help them as an individual, organisation or company to adopt their school. ENDS
