11 Jul 2017

Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Mr Moiseraele Goya says 32 senior secondary schools have purpose-built functional computer laboratories fitted with thin client computers.

Mr Goya said all the 32 senior secondary schools had Internet access, and that it was accessible to both teachers and students.

He further indicated that all senior secondary schools offered computer studies as an optional subject.

Mr Goya, however, pointed out that Internet access and the use of ICT technology was not 100 per cent reliable, and that from time to time his ministry was required to carry out repairs to restore service.

Selebi Phikwe West MP, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister to state the number of senior secondary schools in the country as well as the number and names of school with functional computer laboratories fitted with computers.

He also wanted the minister to state the number and names of schools with Internet access which was accessible to learners and teachers. ENDs
