Mr Safik Sardar, a businessman who owns Trade World has donated uniform to leraners at Tshimoyapula Primary School. All the 512 pupils were dressed from head to toe, on a new uniform, courtesy.
Assistant Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, and area MP, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse commended Mr Sardar for the gesture and support. “You are indeed an asset to the republic,” he said.
When deliberating about the partnership with Mr Sardar, Mr Autlwetse explained that, he was pleased that finally the results of the initiative which they had planned together in 2015 had finally been achieved.
He said they met in Shakawe, where Mr Sardar was giving donations through the World Group of Companies, where the minister then requested that such gesture be shown in his constituency.
“Through the World Group of Companies, we have donated to Sojwane, Tshimoyapula, Majwanaadipitse and now we are in Tshimoyapula,” he said.
Mr Autlwetse however pleaded with the parents to take care of the uniform, wash it, and make sure that the children looked smart for their studies.
“We have given each child, a pair of shirts, two pairs of trousers, underwears, three pairs of socks, a pair of shoes, and a jersey,” she said.
For her part, when giving a word of appreciation, the Serowe regional office, chief education officer, Ms Bernadette Monagen, acknowledged the World Group of Companies together with Builders World for their efforts, in making sure that the children had uniform, thus looking alike.
“It is crucial that students look alike as this can enable them to concentrate and focus on their studies,” she said.
She said now that the students had the uniform, this will bring motivation and inspiration in their studies, adding that now what was left was for them to concentrate on their studies.
Ms Monagen further commended the minister for the love, compassion and drive to help his people.
“If we can follow suit, then that way, government will be relieved of some burden and then focus on other aspects of developments,” she said.
She then encouraged those who could afford to do so, adding that, giving did not necessarily mean that a person should be having more, but that, it should be out of compassion, caring, and love for one another.
Further, she encouraged teachers to put more effort towards their duties, adding that now that the children had the basic amenities, they were prepared to learn.
“We need to see a change in school performance as a testimony that indeed we acknowledge the assistance which we received,” she said. ENDS
