Daniels said schools played a pivotal role in development of national teams from grass roots level.
BNSC, she said will always rally behind the school in its contribution to sports development not only in basketball.
Delta Waters manager Tilda Olsen noted that the school recognised students’ capabilities in all areas not only in academia.
Olsen therefore said the school celebrated the achievements of the basketball team and the coaches who sacrificed a lot and were dedicated to the sports.
She encouraged other students to be motivated to realise and develop their own talents.
The school head, Noah Chireshe said it was important for students to appreciate their talent in all aspects.
Chireshe said sport was internationally recognised therefore nurturing students’ talent in sports was worthwhile.
He commended both the basketball boy’s’ and girl’s teams for remaining zonal champions three consecutive years in the North region which he said should motivate fellow students.
Basketball coach Wallace Chikukutu said Delta Waters has so far produced about four basketballers since 2013. Some play for the national team with anither graduate playing for a team in China.
