Pula medical aid launches website
24 Jun 2013
Pula Medical Aid Fund Trust has launched a web portal and website to offer technology - driven health solutions.
Presenting during the launch at Cresta Marang Gardens in Francistown on June 21, claims department manager, Mr Scott Senwelo said launching such services would play an important role in their pursuit to bridge communication gap between the company and its customers.
Mr Senwelo also said the medical aid has been endeavouring to reach its clients but the demand had been high.
He explained that such services would provide their clients with information about their benefits, account transactions and payment updates with the up-to-date information about the medical aid.
He further said clients would need internet services to be able to submit their claims online, check whether their claims have reached the office, payment status of processed claims and their history.
“These services will reduce and eliminate claims processing errors since input of data is done by service providers, which reduce caption errors. There is also a quicker turn-around time for claims processing, leading to an improvement in cash flow,” he said.
Mr Senwelo also said through such services, clients will be provided with the remittance statements in excel format, which are editable and easy to use.
“These statements can be uploaded into any system, thereby allowing for quicker reconciliations of claims submitted and paid,” he said. He also challenged service providers attending the launch to also speed up electronic claims submitted by their clients.
“By speeding up the claims, there will be reduced processing time and errors as well as some queries that may arise,” he said.
He also urged the medical aid service provider to fully take up the opportunity and enrol on the electronic submission programme.
Again, he encouraged them to familiarise themselves with the medical aid rules introduced in July 2011 in order to ensure informed interactions and decisions.
Mr Senwelo said the medical aid remained committed to improving its service delivery, information dissemination and communication with all its stakeholders.
Pula Medical Aid Fund Trust was established in 1991 and is administered by Associated Fund Administrators (AFA).
It has over the past 22 years fulfilled its core mandate of being a leader in the provision of cost effective health care solutions. ENDS
