#Reabatsaa national netball team and Naletsana fascinated the residents of Letlhakane on Monday during the trophy tour of Netball World Youth Cup 2017.
Residents waited with eagerness and excitement looking forward to the arrival of Naletsana.
Kgosi Barontshi Kegapetswe of Letlhakane expressed how thrilled they were as the leadership and residents of Letlhakane to have their village chosen amongst the list of villages for trophy tour.
Kgosi Kegapetswe called on female students to actively participate in sports, most importantly netball, saying they should desist from illicit ways that could destroy their future such as falling pregnant.
He wished team Botswana well in the upcoming games scheduled for July 8 to 16.
The Local Organising Commitee representative and assistant district commissioner Patrick Tlotleng said netball was a great sport that could attract the masses to fill up the two venues in Gaborone.
Tlotleng was hopeful that through the trophy tour more young girls could be attracted to the netball sport so that even after the world cup, they could continue playing.
That, he said, would give local coaches an opportunity to select the best players to represent the country in the global arena.
The team would be made of the players who have been selected from a pool of great players.
The tagline #Re a ba tsaa, he said would resonate amongst all until the games and beyond.
Tlotleng said the tour would boost morale of girls when they saw how Batswana received them at every stop.
Some of the villages and towns, he said were chosen because that was where the team members originated from.
Tlotleng said 20 teams were expected to participate in the games, and these included four countries from United States of America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania. ENDS
