Patel donates to needy children

24 Jun 2013

Matrix Construction has donated more than 120 track suits to Lobatse Town Council to be given to some underprivileged children in Lobatse.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Mr Vasant Patel said the donation came as a token of appreciation to residents of Lobatse as he lived in Lobatse 15 years ago. He said as a former resident of township, he found it paramount to help others during this winter season.

For his part, Councillor Moatlhodi Mantle said people who helped those who could not afford a meal were welcomed and appreciated. Cllr Mantle noted that government was taking care of more than 700 destitute in Lobatse and  spent more than P500 000.

He said government could not do this alone as such, he encouraged others to lend a helping hand to assist the less privilege.

Lobatse town clerk, Ms Gabotlotlane Sekwakwa appreciated the Patel’s family for finding it appropriate to donate track suits during winter season.

She said the gesture was in line with the Vision 2016 pillar of a compassionate, just and caring nation adding that with such gifts, the realisation of Vision 2016 would become a reality as “love is not love until you give it away.”  ENDS
