Apart from the games in Namibia, the chairperson said the team would also compete at the World Champion of Champions Singles Championships planned for Christchurch in New Zealand and in the Peter Richards Invitation Pairs to be held in October this year in Zimbabwe. He noted that they were pinning their hopes on the team to represent the country well in the competitions.

Meanwhile, he also announced that Zone VI would consider a motion at the forth coming Annual General Meeting (AGM) also to be held in Windhoek during the AST tournament to introduce Zone VI came about as they had held their first youth lawn bowling coaching clinic in June this year, which attracted a total of 12 young athletes in an effort to nurture talent at grassroots level.
