Stanbic Bank gives back to community

As a way of giving back to the community,Stanbic Bank donated 240 office furniture to the Ministry of Basic Education in Palapye recently.
A release from Stanbic Bank says the handover comprised of 240 excess office chairs from Stanbic Bank offices following refurbishing of bank premises in which the chairs will be distributed amongst all four secondary schools in Palapye.
A release further states that Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Basic Education, Mr Moiseraele Goya thanked Stanbic Bank for their generosity.
“Stanbic Bank is here, this morning to donate 240 swivel chairs to the Ministry of Basic Education.
I accept this donation and thank the bank for this kind and generous donation, which will go a long way in enhancing the much needed and desired academic achievement in our public schools,” says Mr Goya.
According to the release, Stanbic Bank public relations manager, Ms Ruth Modisane says her office identified Ministry of Basic Education as the beneficiary for the furniture.
“We are excited to address the plea made by schools in Palapye through our branch recently and that the donation has come at the time of need. As Stanbic Bank, we are delighted that we are able to support our education system through donations to improve working environment, something that is important to the learning and teaching.”
The release further states that community development remains a vital part of Stanbic Bank culture with the business working to make sustainable progress real through projects across education, entrepreneurship and health.
Stanbic Bank, the release says donated towards Botswana Examinations Excellence Awards Top 10 BGCSE performing students.
The release also states that Stanbic Bank can be attributed with investment in financial literacy through projects such as financial literacy radio series dubbed, Better Business More Lebotha Reloaded, financial literacy modules and forums. ENDS
