15 May 2017
Tamog Tours Safaris are the official campground operators and managers of the Khawa Dune Challenge scheduled for 25 to 28 May in Khawa.
Speaking in an interview, the managing director of Tamog Tours, Mr Mogomotsi Motlapele confirmed that his company had been officially awarded the rights for the management and operation of the Khawa Dune Challenge and cultural festival campground.
Mr Motlapele said his company offered a wide range of hospitality services ranging from high end tents fitted with a bed, two blankets, two sheets, toilet, lamp and shower to ensuite domes complete with two stretchers, two blankets, lamp, toilet, shower and blankets as well as the DIY category which practically meant “do it yourself.”
DIY is whereby a camper prepared their own meals and provided with only the campground and its facilities.
Mr Motlapele, who revealed that this was his company’s second consecutive year running the campground, applauded Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) for showing confidence and trust in his company, and said he was looking forward to delivering his best and to work diligently with all stakeholders.
He reminded people to practice safety when making their bookings and encouraged them to book directly with his office to be assisted with the camping related matters.
“I want people to practice high safety standards during this year’s festival by doing things in a professional manner. I know this is a very happy time but things such as extinguishing fires during the night and keeping tents away from the fire must be put at the forefront to avoid unnecessary accidents,” advised Mr Motlapele
He also advised those who would be attending the Khawa Dune Challenge not to forget some essentials when attending the festival.
He said travellers must take sufficient food supplies, adding that the only nearest place to get food from was Tsabong which was further away from Khawa.
He also said even though normally there were fuel suppliers at the event, it was crucial to bring sufficient fuel. ENDS
