Coach applauds Sankoyo for strength of character

15 May 2017

Sankoyo Bush Bucks coach, Draglo Stanojlovic has ascribed his teams 2-0 win over Gilport Lions to what he described as a strength of character.
In a post-match interview, Draglo  told BOPA he was ecstatic that his boys showed nothing less than true determination  during the entire game despite the challenges they were facing as a club.
He revealed that as a result of financial challenges, the club could not afford to give players accomodation where they could rest before and after the crucial encounter, but that they were not distracted by the circumstances.

Although they missed several goal scoring chances in the first half, Draglo was confident that Ngurungu, as his club is best known, would finish the league in a respectable position.Although they choked the seemingly lethargic Gilport with pace and a high work rate provided by Botshelo Mafoko and Gaongalelwe Dipateletso, Ngurungu still need to work on their finishing ability.
Several times Mafoko and Dipateletso stormed out of the Gilport web of defence with pace, but lacked composure and support to punish Gilport.
Draglo said the win would spur his boys to take the last three league games with a winning state of mind.
“I have not the slightest doubt in my mind that we are not relegation candidates,” he said.

Meanwhile, Gilport  manager and stand-in coach, Kelesitse Gilika said his boys did not come to the party.
He said Sankoyo overpowered his players in the midfield, adding that the situation was not helped by the suspension of coach, Paradzayi Mandivenga and his assistant, Pullen Busang who watched from the stands.
“I tried three times but couldn’t get a solution to the challenges we faced in the middle,” he said.Gilport remain on position 11 with 31 points while Sankoyo notched up three steps from position 13 with 32 points. ENDS
