Rantuana encourages residents to enrich knowledge

The Member of Parliament for Ramotswa constituency, Mr Samuel Rantuana has encouraged Otse residents to read so as to enrich their knowledge.
Mr Rantuana, who was addressing a kgotla meeting in Otse on May 11, said reading would help residents to be equipped with information and not to rely on hearsays.
He encouraged residents to familiarise themselves with Vision 2036 as it was the aspiration of communities and the nation at large.
He said Vision 2036 aspires to develop the country and improve lives, adding that the vision agenda was reflected in National Development Plan 11.
Mr Rantuana told residents that Vision 2036 would be spread among the three National Development Plans hence urging the youth to familiarire themselves with it.
He expressed hope that the Vision 2036 booklet would be availed to stakeholders and the community.
On other issues, the MP said there was concern that students were not doing well in their studies.
He encouraged parents to take responsibility of their children’s education and to work with teachers in order to produce good results.
Mr Rantuana said the basic education ministry was given a large amount of money to help grow the education sector.
On other issues, the MP raised concern that projects under the Economic Stimulus Programme were behind schedule.
He said Baratani Junior Secondary School toilets were lagging behind despite money having been allocated for the project.
For his part, Kgosi Mothusi Tsetse of Otse said some farmers were not showing seriousness in taking care of their livestock. He said that livestock end up causing damage in people’s field, even though government had invested a lot in agriculture.
He encouraged residents to feel free to approach his office whenever they were aggrieved. ENDS
