Gaborone motor show good platform

14 May 2017

The Shell Gaborone Motor Show provides a good platform for various stakeholders involved in the automotive industry including consumers and this can have a positive bearing on the industry.
These were the words of the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Communication, Mr Kabelo Ebineng when opening the third edition of the Gaborone Motor Show.

Mr Ebineng said motor shows afforded manufacturers and dealers the opportunity to market their products to consumers and get valuable response from consumers, who also get to acknowledge products on offer.
He furthermore stated that it was pleasing for government to see players in the motor industry united under one roof for the three-day show, which commenced on Friday and ended on Sunday.

Mr Ebineng promised his audience that government was doing its best to improve the country’s transportation systems, infrastructure, road networks and road safety, which he said would be of benefit to the motor industry.
Mr Wayne Kingwill, the managing director of Vivo Energy Botswana, the event’s title sponsor said he was proud that his company was collaborating with the event’s organisers for the second edition in a row.
“The event has become an important one for the local motor industry.

As a company we offer innovative and cleaner fuels and lubricants to the world’s motorists, as well as quality service for motorists to consumers at Shell service stations across Botswana. This event is an extension of our services,” said Mr Kingwill. Mr Calistas Chijoro, head of business banking at Stanbic Bank, which was also one of the sponsors, said thus far in Botswana the motor show was the best platform for getting industry players and consumers to interact.
“We have a variety of motor industry products on display, and this helps the consumer make informed decisions. ENDS
