Deputy paramount chief of Bangwaketse, Kgosi Kebapetse Telekelo, has applauded Kanye Private Secondary School students for displaying good behaviour at all times.
Kgosi Telekelo said that during the unveiling of US plaque at the school in Kanye on May 9.
The US embassy donated computers and furniture worth P70 000.
He said ill-mannered behaviour is socially unacceptable as it condemns one to a social misfit.
He therefore highlighted that in order for them to make their parents and teachers proud, they should be well behaved.
He said good manners must be reflected in the way they conduct themselves when inside or outside the school.
Students were also encouraged to take their education seriously in order to turn their dreams into reality.
“These are the attributes that you should exhibit in your being, no matter where you are,” he said.
He urged them to be responsible and take every piece of their school work seriously because learning is a treasure that follows the owner everywhere and it unlocks every door in the future.
The director of the school, The school owner, Mr Steven Sorinyane said the school requested for assistance from various embassies in 2014, but the US embassy assisted them after assessment.
Mr Sorinyane said out of 100 private institutions, they were selected the best because they met the recommended standard.
He said US embassy would assist them for a period of three years, adding that the school was a non-profit institution meant to assist the community.
He said the school had branches at Hukuntsi, Tsabong, Lehututu and Lobatse.
He praised Kgosi Malope II of Bangwaketse for supporting the school, which was started in 1978. ENDS
