Shoes Rough diamond awaiting polishing

Bobonong Stone Breakers player Gaobakwe Serumola who is commonly known as Shoes is a forward player with a bright future in football career.
Bobonong Stone Breakers football club are currently playing in Selebi Phikwe Regional Football Association Division One league.
Speaking in an interview, he said his father was a fan of the late South Africa football player John 'Shoes' Moshweu and that love propelled his father to name him Shoes.


Shoes came into prominence while doing Form IV at Matshekge Senior Secondary School in 2009 and still at that level he made his debut at Callies Football Club in Mathathane.
Though he did not have passion in football, he said while in junior school, he once quit the sport and played table tennis but his father did not like table tennis and he therefore urged and encouraged him to play soccer.
He said in 2010 he joined one of Mathathane social football clubs called The Birds.
He explained that The Birds are among known social football clubs that compete during festive holidays in Mathathane.
“The famous club has produced players like Richard Legwaila who plays for BDF 11”, he said.


The 25 year old Mathathane born said in 2013 he went to Gaborone to join Block 8 Superstars and later Mankgodi - based football club named Sevilla Spurs.
He explained that in early 2016 he went for trials at Jwaneng Galaxy but he did not make it due to an ankle injury adding that after trial he went on to join Debswana Young Stars.
He added that from Debswana Young Stars he moved to Bobonong to join Stone Breakers where he is currently playing as a striker.
Shoes is one such player who knows where the goal post is wherever he has the ball on his feet.


He even caught the eyes of some of the Mochudi Centre Chiefs staff during Christmas when they were scouting at Mathathane football tournament in 2016.
He said he failed Mochudi Centre Chiefs trials which were conducted in early January this year.
However, Shoes was an influential and key player during Christmas football tournament at Mathathane in 2016 as he was the top goal scorer.
He was rewarded with money amounting to P500 and a trophy.


Shoes is well known for his dribbling, finishing and ability to use both feet-something that distinguishes him from other players.
He said he wished to see himself playing for big teams in the near future. ENDS
