Township Rollers defeated Security Systems 2-0 in a fairly contested BTC premiership encounter played at Lobatse Sports Complex on April 23.
Both teams competed fiercely as the game began with most attacks being initiated on the wings. Systems shot stopper, Joseph Gojamang was sure footed between the posts. Rollers however dominated the game midway through the first stanza as they pushed the alarm boys into their own half.
Motsholetsi Sikele found the lead for Rollers in the 27th minute by tapping the ball into the net in a congestion within the box.
As the visitors continued with the upper hand in the first half, Terrence Mandaza netted the second goal for Mapalastina by edging the ball into the net amidst the erroneous defence of Systems.
The alarm boys’ efforts to secure a consolation was futile because Kabelo Dambe was on top form.
In a post match interview, Township Rollers head coach, Teenage Mpote said he was happy with the results.
“I am happy about how my players approached the game despite the fact that we failed to utilise most chances,” he said.
His counterpart Thaloba Nthaga said his team failed to defend well hence they lost the game.
“We failed to defend well during the first half and it is not easy to come from a two goal deficit against Rollers,” he said. ENDS
