NWYC website launches

Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Kago Ramokate said his ministry gets excited when companies and individuals come to the party and assist them in their mandate of ensuring a successful Netball World Youth Cup (NWYC).
Speaking at the NWYC 2017 partnership website launch with MindQ, Ramokate said website was critical in the plan and build up to hosting of any event particularly sport events.
“When you have a plan laid out, which states how you are going to prepare for the game, and things happen to fall in place as per the plan, you get to acquire the support that you need.
It is in a way pleasing, as it shows you are building to the objective of hosting very successful games,” he said.
Furthermore, he said it was through the website that they would be able to gauge and see where they still needed to improve because all would want to see the Netball team profiles, schedules and any other relevant information on the website as this would help to inform the global village about preparations as well as what they expect when they get here.
Ramokate further said it was also a pro bono partnership where the Local Organising Committee would not be paying anything and this was indeed a great offer as mindQ was hosting the website for the Local Organising Committee.
The games, he said would not only brand Botswana as a great tourist destination but all those who assisted in their success would be hailed as heroes in the history books.
Ramokate further said he was confident that Botswana National Sport Commission was on board and very supportive to the Local Organising Committee throughout their preparations as they were very passionate about sport development and they would ensure that the Netball World Youth Cup 2017 left an incredible mark in the minds of all Batswana and sport persons.
Botswana Netball Association president, Tebogo Lebotse- Sebego said MindQ had not only developed the website but they had also paid for its hosting for three years
“It is very humbling to see an organisation go to that extent, to pay and make sure the website is alive for three years. It is actually a requirement by the International Netball Federation that the website must run for further two years after the event,” she said.
Furthermore, she said the website had a counter clocking to the seconds that would remind people as to how many days were left before the games. ENDS
