Kebonang calls for patience
17 Apr 2017
The Member of Parliament for Lobatse, Advocate Sadique Kebonang has implored his constituents to wait patiently for developments.
Speaking during a kgotla meeting in Lobatse on Thursday, the MP said developments were slow due to unforeseen circumstances, but that in due course they would materialise and help uplift the face of their town as well as creating job opportunities in their locality to improve the country’s economy.
He also urged residents to be thankful and appreciative of the work he was doing for the town.
Advocate Kebonang, who is also the Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, encouraged residents to never forget God in whatever they do.
He said this after donating 800 chairs to 27 churches based in Lobatse, adding that the tasks he has been appointed to do were only manageable through God’s favour.
Advocate Kebonnag also said although he does not spend much time with constituents due to the two positions he was responsible for, his works would speak for him.
He urged his constituents to show trust and support in everything that he does in the constituency.
He also noted that he was where he was because of their votes.
He urged residents to avoid rushing into strikes when issue do not turn out the way they wanted them to be, saying the failure to control themselves during hard times created more problems.
Furthermore, he encouraged residents to be self-reliant by venturing into businesses through the poverty eradication programmes and other government programmes to create job opportunities for their fellow citizens to uplift their livelihoods and reduce dependency on the government.
He said the setting up of new businesses would be a solution to the crises affecting the country’s economic sector such as the closing of mines.
For his part, Kgosi Pius Letsholo pleaded with residents to be patient and stay positive with what the minister was doing because his works were visible, emphasising that Rome was not built in one day.
Mr Letsholo encouraged the minister to be strong because he proved his diligence by producing good results with no assistance.
Also present at the meeting, one of the Lobatse pastors, Mr David Releseng expressed his gratitude to the minister for donating chairs to churches.
Mr Releseng said what the MP did for the house of the Lord would take him far because God would bless him richly for honouring the body of Christ.
He also commended the MP for the good work of luring investors to Lobatse to bring new developments to the town.BOPA
