A home without a green touch is incomplete.
That is where 41-year-old Ramotswa florist comes in, making it her mission to make her clients’ homes green.
Since Ms Diteko Tsetse decided to follow her passion in 2013, she has nothing, but a glowing face to testify of the greatness of her business.
“It enlightens and gives me a chance to better my life every day, allowing me to meet various people, whom we share the same fate,” she clarified.
Speaking to BOPA in an interview, Ms Tsetse explained that flowers and plants enhanced a home and brought life to it.
Back at home as a young girl, she has always been obsessed with plants, her remedy to heal and overcome dark moments that life brought.
Raised by parents who loved to be surrounded by plants, enjoying their fresh breeze, she grew to love plants and flowers, thus finding it necessary to equip herself with knowledge to treat her passion with the best of love.
Ms Tsetse, who is married with three children said besides her duties as a mother and wife, she gave full dedication to her job as a florist.
She pointed out that she was grateful to Poverty Eradication Programme for helping her financially to buy some equipment and build her nursery, which is now blooming.
She explained that her dedication in her work had invited prominent people in the community to come and show support in what she did.
“I love what I do because it keeps bringing me the best, thus inspiring me to strive because that is where my bread comes from,” she added.
She specialises in different types of flowers, fruit plants and fresh flowers.
Despite all the love she is getting, she lamented about troubles she went through to succeed in business.
“It is never a smooth road, that is where passion and dedication come in”, she explained.
Ms Tsetse explained that transportation of soil from Otse to Ramotswa was costly because Ramotswa soil was not favourable in doing her business, hence asking for travelling numerous trips.
She also mentioned that plant parasites such as termites and fungus were causing business setbacks.
Nonetheless, Ms Tsetse said she managed to cut her bills short by recycling water to keep her plants flourishing.
She is proud to testify that profits that were generated from her business have given her another opportunity to start a poultry business.
She continued to state that with the profits she earned, she was able to pay all her bills and feed her family.
Ms Tsetse encouraged people who wanted to follow in her foot steps to empower themselves with knowledge and work hard towards their goal. BOPA
