Botswana is happy to welcome, house, encourage and be with companies that become true corporate citizens who respond to the real needs of the populace of the country, Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi has said.
Receiving 100 blankets and mattresses from Ray Morgan Agencies at the Office of the President on Monday, Mr Masisi acknowledged the support of citizen corporate entities such as the RMA. “We are delighted at receiving this and we expect it to grow as the new generation takes over the reins of the company,” he said.
The minister pointed out that the company had started 24 years ago operating from the boot of a citi golf and had grown to become big enough to respond to a call from the Head of State.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr Lapologang Lekoa commended President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama for his vision of launching the housing appeal initiative.
“I think it came out of his heart to say that there are people in this country who need particular assistance and it is a responsibility and duty of other citizens to respond appropriately,” Mr Lekoa said. He expressed gratitude to RMA for responding to a felt need in the country and expressed hope that other companies would follow their example.
Mr Brynn Morgan said his company looked forward to assisting the government in such projects aimed at alleviating poverty. ENDS
