Salaries of government employees continue to be paid on their due dates, as guided by his ministry pay dates schedule.

Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Kenneth Matambo has told Parliament that there were no late payments of salaries of government employees since all requests for salary payments from line ministries were processed timeously by Office of the Accountant General (OAG).

The minister stated that all requests for payment of temporary teachers’ salaries were always processed and paid on time by OAG.

He said similarly, all requests for payment of temporary public employees were processed and paid on time by OAG.

MP for Selebi Phikwe West, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister to state the current value in Pula terms in respect of late payments of salaries of government employees.

He further asked the minister to state the status of late payments in respect of government, temporary teachers, temporary public employees and temporary service providers. ENDS
