BPOPF rebrands

09 Apr 2017

The Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund (BPOPF) has rebranded and the new logo has been unveiled to key stakeholders.

The logo, which is an extension of Botswana’s rich heritage, pride and legacy, is inspired by BPOPF’s mandate to secure dignified retirement for Botswana’s public officers.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, BPOPF board chairperson, Mr Carter Morupisi said the development was consistent with the number of operational changes the fund was undergoing.

“We, as a fund, see this evolution of our identity as key to this process. It is in light of this, that we find the rebranding of the BPOPF could not have come at a better time,” he said.

Mr Morupisi noted that BPOPF had set itself a goal to continuously provide service that eased key stakeholders’ journey to retirement, as well as to improve the nations’ investment portfolio and diversify Botswana’s development sectors.

He therefore said as the fund embarked on the new journey, the same principles that governed the operations, including transparency and integrity, continued to be at the heart of who they were as an organisation.

In positively changing the lives of Batswana, Mr Morupisi said to date, the fund had invested P24.7 million or 45 per cent of its total portfolio in developing Botswana’s different sectors as at December 31,2016.

Furthermore, he said as a fund, they would like to emulate other best in class pension funds in areas such as optimal costs per member and accurate member data.

“We are working actively with government to facilitate the growth of SMEs, citizen owned initiatives and companies to encourage the future development and contributions in the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, BPOPF CEO, Ms Boitumelo Molefe said the new brand identity represented a new era for the fund and was aligned to its aim of driving member value.

She said the new brand evoked value, commitment and stability, while the tagline and logo had changed to better represent what the fund was today.

Ms Molefe also noted that the recent implementation of their strategy to insource the fund administration mandate precipitated the need to restructure the organisation.

She said as they moved into a new and exciting phase in the life of the fund, they thought it fitting to create an identity that spoke to the strategic direction that the BPOPF was moving into; a symbol that would be as enduring as the fund had been. ENDS
