Parliament has been informed that the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security is currently recruiting for all the 191 vacant posts available.

This was said by the ministry's assistant minister, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse in response to a question by Specially Elected MP, Mr Mephato Reatile, who had wanted the minister to state the total number of vacant posts in the ministry and to provide the breakdown by departments and districts.

MrAutlwetse said there were 1 141 temporary employees engaged to acquire experience.

“These are composed of 876 employees engaged on temporary basis, 83 under the National Internship Programme, 227 serving under Tirelo Sechaba Programme across departments and districts and one volunteer,” he said.

MP Reatile had also wanted the minister to state the total number of employees engaged to acquire experience and also the challenges that caused delay in filling the post. ENDS
