Botswana Meat Commission has scooped the Socrates ‘best enterprise’ and ‘best manager of the year’ awards at the Europe business assembly.

A press release from BMC states that the meat commission has been conferred with the Socrates international prize for ‘best enterprises’ in the field of promoting national beef products at the 2017 edition of the Europe business assembly held March 28 in London, United Kingdom.

“Alongside the honour to the BMC, the chief executive officer, Dr Akolang Tombale was also presented the ‘best manager of the year’ award for his proficiencies and thoughtfulness in leading the BMC group of companies towards achieving their national mandate,” it states.

The release explains that the selection process for nominations followed a four stage protocol which then was adjudicated for awarding by a 13 member expert-panel from reputable global businesses and thought leaders.

It also says the recipients were assessed based on strong position at the national market, company status on international ratings, modern management technologies, high staff qualification, business reputation and successful marketing strategy, positive image in the region, investment rating and attractiveness as well as competitiveness among others.

It further notes that apart from being renowned for quality and sustainable beef exports, BMC boasts of other global tributes conferred on it, last being the “new era award for technology, innovation and quality’ awarded in 2014.

It continues to say the accolades favourably positions the BMC brand globally and creates desired interest of its products by new markets as well as lauding the collective efforts of the local beef value chain as well as the country’s reputation in international trade. ENDS
