Shorobe-Mawana gate not in NDP 11

There is no immediate plan to construct the Shorobe–Mawana gate due to lack of funds, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Slumber Tsogwane has said.
Responding to a parliamentary question on Wednesday on behalf of the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Tsogwane said although the road was only a short distance, it was not possible to include it in NDP 11, and that it would continue to be maintained using private contractors.
The Member of Parliament for Maun East, Mr Konstantinos Markus had asked the Minister of Transport and Communication if he would construct a road from Shorobe to Mawana gate. MP Markus had also wanted to know when the road would be constructed, adding that it was only 18 kilometres. ENDS
