Land management, water and sanitation services assistant minister, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi has applauded Ngwaketse Landboard for their spirit of compassion after building a house for Ms Xale Kathwaake of Morwamosu.
Speaking at the house handover, Mr Moipisi said what Ngwaketse Landboard did was clear demonstration that the nation still upheld the spirit of care and compassion.
He added that building the house for Ms Kathwaake also showed commitment, support and contribution to the country’s Vision 2036 pillar of human and social development which encouraged and emphasised the spirit of giving among the society.
Mr Moipisi noted that such gesture was motivational, not only to other ministries, but the community as well because it showed that the country could achieve a lot through the long standing spirit of self reliance and Botho which were anchored in the national principles.
He further commended the private sector, different groups and individuals who contributed toward the construction of the house.
Such spirit, he added, did not only enhance their social responsibility stature, but also endeared a feeling of fulfilment and personal pride to be counted among those who stepped up and committted to making a difference in the lives of other fellow citizens.
Ngwaketse Landboard chairperson, Mr Mosimanegape Mophuthing explained that a total of P75 300 which was used for building the house was a contribution from staff members.
He also appreciated support and spirit of volunteerism that was showed by some of the residents of Morwamosu.
The beneficiary, Ms Kathwaake applauded the Ngwaketse Landboard for building her a house.
She said over the years, she had been a victim of harsh weather conditions, but with the house she was given, she would never be a victim of such.
She added that having a house of her own had elevated her social standing and uplifted her self confidence and pride as a human being.
She promised to take care of the house.
Ms Kathwaake encouraged the nation to continue helping other fellow citizens to live better lives.
Her house was the 16th that the land management, water and sanitation services ministry built in support of the Presidential Housing Appeal programme. ENDS
