No BHC houses at Ngakayagae

30 Mar 2017

The Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) is not constructing any houses at Ngakayagae ward in Mahalapye. This was said by the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Development, Mr Nonofo Molefhi in Parliament on March 29. Mr Molefhi said the reason was that ‘there was a low demand for BHC houses in Mahalapye as a whole,’ adding that this was evidenced by the fact that the corporation currently had some nine vacant units at Moko ward in Mahalapye. “Hence, plans to construct 50 houses in the village during the upcoming financial year have been shelved awaiting a time when there will be a demand for housing units,” he said. MP for Mahalapye West, Mr Joseph Molefe had asked the minister to update the House on the construction of BHC houses at Ngakayagae ward in Mahalapye. ENDS
