Matlapana Headington share knowledge expertise

Matlapana Primary School in Maun recently welcomed visitors from Headington School, a private girls school in the United States on a four-day collaboration mission.
Former North West District principal education officer, Ms Beauty Bogwasi said the chief objective of the two schools collaboration was to share knowledge, expertise, resources and experience cultural diversities.
Ms Bogwasi said the collaboration was also aimed at creating a professional dialogue between the two schools based on learning and teaching.
North West region chief education officer, Ms Didimalang Memo said Headington school’s visit would motivate and uplift pupils’ learning.
“It is of great honour for you to have come a long way down here to share with us your skills and cultures. I am convinced that what you are going to share with pupils will go a long way,” she said.
Headington school head, Ms Vanessa Sinclair said the Oxford based school was an international school enrolling students from all parts of the world such as Botswana, Singapore, Belgium, Hong Kong among others.
Ms Sinclair said collaborating with Matlapana was a platform to establish friendship and exchange expertise.
She said each year, the school committed to partner with another, with the aim of improving their education system.
Matlapana school head, Mr Jobs Kasu said international collaboration for exchange of experiences and information in the quest to improve quality education was of critical importance.
Matlapana primary has an enrolment of 842 pupils, 26 teaching staff and 13 supporting staff, and had scored 79 per cent ABC in the 2016 PSLE results putting it on position four out of 36 schools in the region. ENDS
