27 Mar 2017

Deputy district commissioner for Okavango, Mr Thabang Waloka has urged  Kemokene Candle Making Project to work as a team to produce positive results for the business.
Launching the newly introduced machinery for the project, which is under the Poverty Eradication Programme in Shakawe recently, he said that candle-making was strategically given to them with the influence of their location.
He advised the team to work closely with one another and also ask for assistance from relevant offices.
Mr Waloka said they were behind the project, and will make sure that it becomes a success and also better their lives.
“The office will support this candle making project, therefore we wish to see the beneficiaries graduating from poverty programmes,” he said.
On another note he advised them to advertise their business so that their products do well in the market.
He said they must work hard and produce different types of candles for different occasions as a way of attracting customers.
He said he was content that they would produce good results because they were trained about group dynamics, business skills and what a medium term business was.
The chairperson of the project, Ms Segametsi Beerane promised that they were going to strive to make it impressive and successful.
She said after the training on group dynamics and other skills they were ready to start manufacturing candles for the whole country. ENDS
