Govt sources village electrification funds
23 Mar 2017
About 377 villages have been electrified under the Rural Electrification Programme, which was established in 1975 with the assistance of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security, Advocate Sadique Kebonang said 10 villages in the Takatokwane constituency have been electrified.
“Government continues to source funds to electrify the remaining villages in the Takatokwane constituency and countrywide; this in a bid to support commercial and non-commercial undertakings and to facilitate socio-economic development,” he said.
Minister Kebonang was responding to a question by MP for Takatokwane, Mr Ngaka Ngaka who had asked the minister to update the House on the village electrification distribution in the Takatokwane constituency. ENDS
