LEA emphasises market strategy
23 Mar 2017
Lack of good and profitable markets amongst most businesses in the country is common, says Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) market access manager, Mr Phomolo Akoonyatse.
Addressing entrepreneurs in Maun recently, Mr Akoonyatse said market strategy was key to success for any business to thrive.
As a result, he said LEA has embarked on a countrywide tour to sensitise procuring and supplies persons on marketing.
Mr Akoonyatse encouraged the business people to create a network and a sustainable mutual relationship amongst themselves.
He said entrepreneurs should not take marketing for granted as an unnecessary expense as some may perceive it.
“Nowadays businesses that do not have a marketing strategy fail and any business should start with a market research,“ he said.
Mr Akoonyatse said marketing strategies as branding and advertising on media platforms were integral to a business.
He advised entrepreneurs that supplies should be visible and communicate the amount of products and any changes to those who buy from them.
LEA Maun branch manager, Mr Agripah Hengari said their aim was to make micro and medium businesses in the North West region grow.
So far, he said LEA has helped some entrepreneurs to overcome their challenges and have sustainable businesses. ENDS
