Land allocation done prior to policy

Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services, Mr Prince Maele has told Parliament that allocation of residential plots in Kgare settlement was done prior to the National Settlement Policy of 1998.
He said following approval of the policy, allocation of residential plots in Kgare was stopped because it did not meet the criteria to be recognised as a settlement.
Minister Maele was responding to a question from Member of Parliament for Takatokwane, Mr Ngaka Ngaka who had wanted to know when the residential land allocation was done at Kgare settlement. ENDS
