The Tawana Bophirima arbitration ward has been established as an extension of the Tawana arbitration ward in Letlhakane.

The headman of arbitration for the ward was inaugurated on March 1, 2017 after protracted consultations by bogosi, a move which caused the delay in appointing the headman.

Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Slumber Tsogwane said no officer was held liable for failing to implement the decision which was taken by the minister in 2016, hence no action was taken.

MP Sethomo Lelatisitswe of Boteti East had requested the minister to state progress made in the establishment of the Tawana Bophirima arbitration ward and the appointment of headman of arbitration.

He also wanted to know what caused the delay in appointing the headman of arbitration since the approval by the minister in 2016, and the action taken against the officer who failed to implement the decision of the minister. ENDS
