No plans for industrial court act - Molefhi
19 Mar 2017
There are currently no plans to come up with an Industrial Court Act as the mandate the Industrial Court is clearly stipulated in the Trade Dispute Act (Part III) as a court of equity, infrastructure and housing development minister, Mr Nonofo Molefhi has said.
Mr Molefhi said this on behalf of the Minister of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, when responding to a question in Parliament on Thursday.
MP for Gabane- Mmankgodi, Maj Gen Pius Mokgware had asked the minister if there were any plans to come up with the Industrial Court Act that would clearly set out the mandate of this court to separate it from the Trade Dispute Act, so that this aligned to other courts in the country that had specific legislation dealing with them for example Customary Court Act and Court of Appeal Act.
