Veterinary services owes no participants
14 Mar 2017
The Department of Veterinary Services has since paid two Tirelo Sechaba participants stationed in Sowa their dues, Parliament was told.
Answering a question posed by the MP for Nata/Gweta, Mr Polson Majaga, the Assistant Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila said the delay to pay them was initially caused by uncertainty regarding their eligibility and later by financial constraints.
Mr Mzwinila explained that the two participants attached to the Department of Veterinary Services in the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security and stationed at Sowa Township were owed subsistence allowance for an official trip they undertook from February 19 to March 5, 2016.
MP Majaga wanted to know if the minister is aware that Tirelo Sechaba Volunteers attached to the Department in Sowa have not been paid for over six months. ENDS
