Ministry addresses shortage at Itekeng

Itekeng Junior Secondary School in Ghanzi has been budgeted for P35 000 for furniture and maintenance in 2017/2018 financial year, basic education minister, Dr Unity Dow has said.

Dr Dow said she is aware that Itekeng Junior Secondary School in Ghanzi has a shortage of table and chairs, adding that parents have not been asked to assist in the provision of tables and chairs but are free to do so.

She however said they remain grateful to parents for their assistance in the education of their children.

MP for Ghanzi North, Mr Noah Salakae had asked the minister if she is aware that Itekeng Junior Secondary School in Ghanzi has a serious shortage of tables and chairs, and parents are being asked to assist.

MP Salakae also wanted the minister to state if they have budgeted for the school under the current 2017/2018 financial year, how much is the proposed budget and whether all the parents in Botswana are expected to assist or this only obtains in the Ghanzi North Constituency. ENDS
