Tender appeal delays delivery

Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development is aware of shortage of exercise books in primary schools in Gabane-Mmankgodi constituency primary schools.
Parliament was told on March 7, that the problem was caused by the appeal on the award of the tender by one of the bidders.
Answering a question from the MP for Gabane/ Mmankgodi, Major General Pius Mokgware, the Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso indicated that Mogoditshane/ Thamaga Sub Council had since procured a total of 16,438 exercise books.
The exercise books, she said were delivered to the schools of Gabane-Mmankgodi constituency from February 2 to 15, 2017. She further said a tender for the remaining 32,876 exercise books had been awarded and they would be delivered by the end of March 2017.
MP Mokgware wanted to know if there are any plans to solve the problem of shortage of exercise books in the Gabane-Mmankgodi constituency primary schools. ENDS
