Oodi College students paid allowances - Madigele
07 Mar 2017
Ministry of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology has no plans to discontinue paying Oodi College of Applied Arts and Technology students living allowances. Answering a question in Parliament on March 6, Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology, Dr Alfred Madigele said it was not true that the ministry was no longer paying students living allowances at the college.
He said students at Oodi College had already been paid their allowances for the months of January and February this year. He added that payments of allowances at the revenue for Oodi College and Kgatleng Brigades were staggered. However, he assured Parliament that Oodi College allowances for March would be paid this week.
Member of Parliament for Mochudi West, Mr Gilbert Mangole had wanted to know if it was true that the student living allowances at Oodi College were no longer being paid. MP Mangole also wanted to know what had motivated the cruel decision, when such decision was taken and if there were any plans or intentions to reinstate allowances. ENDS
