Ministry to monitor evening buses
12 Feb 2017
Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Kitso Mokaila has told Parliament that he is not aware that there has been no development in the evening bus service from Gaborone to Ramotswa.
He highlighted that his ministry through the Department of Road Transport and Safety called all operators who were involved in the evening operation to discuss the matter.
Mr Mokaila said it had been their belief that the operation had improved as they had not received any complaint from members of the public regarding evening service.
The minister stated that transport inspectors and members of Botswana Police are always patrolling the bus rank and the road to ensure that there is compliance by public service vehicle operators.
However, he said, his ministry would continue to monitor the situation.
MP for Ramotswa, Mr Samuel Rantuana had asked the minister why there was no improvement in the evening bus services from Gaborone to Ramotswa as he had promised, and how his ministry monitors the quality of the service. ENDS
